Live: Climate Social Evening Podcast

The first podcast was recorded in a live studio in Kansas City Missouri at the 1739 Gallery. A place with arts, music, dance and community and mixed drinks. We chose this location as an evening social gathering ahead of a Toxic Tour on April 13.

In this podcast your host: Beto Lugo Martinez invited Elizabeth Friedman MD MPH & Atentas Mena RN MBA to have an informal interview with our guests, the one and only Ms.Margaret from West Oakland Environmental Project Indicators, followed by Harold Mitchell a member of the White House Environmntal Justice Advisory Council.

My friend and colleage Katherine Catalano who leads the American Public Health Association Climate Health and Equity, was also interviewed and with her talent also sang acapella to the crowd who sang along.

Finally, Athena Mothavef with Earthjustice was interviewed and discsuss her role at an organization whose tagline is Lawyers for the Earth. All in all it was a fun evening of informal questions and laughter.

Enjoy.

Environmental Justice & Climate Equity

Environmental hazards are consistently placed in poor communities and policies aimed to improve the environment often spread costs and benefits unevenly across different populations. Experts acknowledge that Climate Change will disproportionally affect low-income communities; communities who are least responsible for climate change emissions. Join host, Bob Grove, and guests to discuss Environmental Justice & Climate Equity. Guests include: • Beto Lugo, Executive Director, Clean Air Now • Jacqui Patterson, Executive Director, The Chisholm Legacy Project • Jellie Duckworth, Climate Equity and Community Engagement Strategist with LivZero • Omar Muhammed, Executive Director, Low Country Alliance for Model Communities • Romona Taylor Williams, Executive Director, MS Communities United for Prosperity (MCUP)
